Twenty Girls to Envy Me: Selected Poems of Orit Gidali
Translated from the Hebrew by Marcela Sulak
This was a small poetry book that provided a couple of design and typesetting challenges: working with Hebrew, which reads backward from English, and a few poems with unusual structures. We went through several iterations of the design. From my original design, I made changes to better match the cover once the cover was designed, and I also simplified the design a lot at the request of the translator. The page above shows a middle iteration—harmony with the cover but not yet simplified.
