Our Secret Life in the Movies

The design is very similar to the other A\SO books I’ve designed. We can’t seem to get away from the fonts and basic design principles we originally chose. The original design was so perfect for the aesthetics of the press that, unless a book really calls for something different, this basic design seems like the best choice. Plus, the continuity is nice. It makes the books feel like a collection, parts of a whole, rather than three random books.

This book is a little different from the earlier two books because the stories are so short, and they come in pairs. Both authors wrote a piece in response to a certain movie in the Criterion Collection. I took the original design and adapted it to best fit the text. And I always like to make the title page echo the cover, which are usually so attractive that it seems like a shame not to pay homage on the title page spread.
